PSAT/SAT DAY – OCTOBER 10
9-11 GRADE STUDENTS – THE PTSA IS COMING!
The PSAT is a key step in your child’s journey to college! On Wednesday, October 10, all 9th -11th grade students will be taking the PSAT/NMSQT, a test of the skills and knowledge essential for college and career that students are learning in class.
We encourage your child to take advantage of the many benefits the PSAT/NMSQT offers:
- Connects students to colleges and universities across the country, and to scholarship organizations.
- Prepares students for the new SAT® and college and fuels practice recommendations on Khan Academy®.
- Matches students with AP® courses that make the most of their academic strengths. AP classes can provide an edge in the admission process, and an opportunity to earn college credit.
Please use the below links to help your student better prepare for the PSAT. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Morrison in the Assistant Principal’s office.

FREE SAT FOR SENIORS
On Wednesday, October 10th, Centennial High School will offer the SAT for SENIORS ONLY at no charge. There is no essay with this examination. Registration signs are located throughout the building. Registration closes September 13, 2018.
FREE PSAT/SAT PREP FROM KHAN ACADEMY
A study of 250,000 students from the class of 2017 showed that a little practice goes a long way—regardless of gender, race, income, or high school GPA. In fact, 20 hours on Khan Academy® was associated with an average 115-point increase from the PSAT/NMSQT to the SAT. The more you practice, the better you’ll feel on test day. Sixteen thousand students improved their scores by 200 points or more.
The College Board and Khan Academy® have partnered to make practicing easy and personal. At Khan Academy, you can access thousands of questions approved by the College Board, take four official SAT practice tests, and create personalized study plans based on your results.
